Björn picked up his first guitar at age 10, touring as a soloist or with his band all around the world playing pop, jazz, rock, blues, country and whatever comes up.
He continues to be one of Iceland´s foremost jazz musicians and has released a number of critically acclaimed albums. He has won several Icelandic music awards, including “Jazz Performer of the Year” in 2003, and Guitar Islancio, one of his many ensembles, was the first Icelandic jazz group to have a gold certificate album. He has collaborated with stellar jazz musicians such as Niels-Henning Örsted Pedersen, Tommy Emmanuel, Kazumi Watanabe, Alex Riel, Philip Catherine, Didier Lockwood, James Carter, Larry Coryell and many others.
When Björn is not busy performing, he also runs the annual Icelandic Guitar Festival, which is also televised and has become a big hit in recent years with sold-out shows.
