Danish artist Benjamin Ghebrelul Trærup, is a Saxophonist born (1976) and raised in in Denmark. He got his Masters degree in Saxophone, Composition and Music Education from the Royal Danish Academy in 2006. Today he is living and working in the NY metropolitan area.
In 2006 Bejamin Ghebrelul studied saxophone and composition in New York. That year he met his coming wife, American born Indra Rios Moore. Shortly after they moved back to Denmark spending 6 years establishing a jazz band. In 2013 they moved back to the USA. Today Benjamin is the leader, composer and arranger of “Indra”, a quartet comprised of three Danes and one American.
For the last 10 years Benjamin Ghebrelul and his band has been building a cultural bridge between Denmark and the USA. A part of the success in Denmark has come from the fact that they brought a piece af New York to Denmark and the opposite by bringing a piece of Denmark to the American music scene.

2015 – ”Heartland” named best album of the year by Danish Jazz Magazine, Jazz Special as well as added the Top Albums of 2015 by the London Telegraph, SouljazzUK, and numerous other publications.
2014 – signed a record deal with UMG as the first Danish band in many years.
2012 – INDRA ”In Between” – won the Danish Music Award for ”Best Vocal Jazz Album of the year”
2010 – INDRA debut album – nominated for a Danish Music Award
2007 – ”Santa Teresa” solo record released by Benjamin Traerup
