Theodore W. Scull is an author, travel writer and lecturer specializing in destinations, railway and maritime subjects and New York City. Among seven books published are Ocean Liner Odyssey and Ocean Liner Twilight, both accounts of his early sea travels and is currently working on a sequel; four editions of 100 Best Cruise Vacations; three editions of Outdoor Escapes New York City about walks and hikes in the tri-state region accessed by public transit; Hoboken’s Lackawanna Terminal and The Staten Island Ferry.
He has traveled to 50 states, all Canadian provinces and the seven continents and has spent over five years of his life aboard 250 passenger-carrying vessels of all types, with the quirkier the better.
He is past chairman of the World Ship Society, Port of New York Branch and served as the president of the Steamship Historical Society of America.
