Ingvild Waerhaug is a Norwegian interdisciplinary artist, vocalist and published author, who lives and works in NYC. She works in different fiber mediums such as textile, paper and glass fiber with acrylic paint, fabric dyes and free hand cut out techniques and is known for her large scale public art installations and paintings. Waerhaug’s recent art installation for NYC Climate week, ‘Heart of the Matter’ is part of an ongoing exploration of invisible energy fields.
Waerhaug received her MFA in fashion design and textile art from Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and has been awarded grants and residencies from the Nord pluss Grant, the Lillehammer Olympic design team, Esso Art awards, Smirnoff Fashion award and IWAS. Her work is exhibited internationally in India, Japan, the UK, USA, Denmark and Norway.
She is also the founder of NYC School of Creativity where she teaches the Vedic Art method to adults, a method that combines spiritual awareness with artist creativity.
