SARA LADE is a Norwegian vocalist and songwriter based in NYC. She has a multifaceted musical background that spans from traditional Norwegian vocal style kveding, to jazz studies at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. Spring 2024 she curated the music for the Tony award nominated Broadway adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s 1882 play An Enemy Of The People, where she contributed to introducing New York theatre audiences to Norwegian traditional music.
Sara views the collection of music that she has written over the years as the most valuable to her. This is what she says about her music: My music belongs somewhere between pop and art, my writing blends between genres. I want to express my universe through my lens, and meet your universe in the point of intersection. Humans need connection. I want my music to be a part of that. I write about being human.
Performances of significance include television, radio, and performances for His Majesty King Harald V of Norway and Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway, and Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC.
