Vibecke was born and raised in Stavanger, Norway. She moved to Oslo to study dance and earned her BA in dance pedagogy from the Norwegian College of Dance and a BA in sports coaching from The University of Sports. After teaching and choreographing in dance and musical theater she decided to spend 6 months to a year in New York for inspiration. New York is still inspiring her as she has made New York her home for almost 25 years. Her work in dance and musical theater as a performer, educator and choreographer inspired her to explore dance photography and become a producer in theater and film.
She is the executive producer on the documentary film “Uprooted”, The Journey of Jazz Dance, and is currently an associate producer on the feature film “Lineage”, grounded in Norse mythology. As a theatrical producer, she was Co-Producer of A Christmas Carol (Broadway) and the award-winning off-Broadway musical Walking with Bubbles (Drama Desk Nomination).
She is co-producer on the first Theremin audio musical Falling in Love with Mr. Dellamort. Vibecke is co-producing the upcoming new Broadway musical SUFFS, about the seven years leading up to the creation of the 19th Amendment giving American women the right to vote in 1920.
Vibecke is currently working with Norwegian creative teams to develop new musicals with historic Scandinavian roots to share in America, especially with the Scandinavian American population. She is inspired to spread the Scandinavian culture and stories through theatrical endeavors.
