Join us Saturday November 16th to visit the studios of Danish, Norwegian and Swedish artists and curators at ISCP in Brooklyn. We will meet with visiting Scandinavian artists & curators in their studios- Lotte Nielsen (Denmark), Katrine Elise Agpalza Pedersen (Philippines/Norway), Tora Schultz (Sweden/Denmark), Jens Settergren (Denmark), and Sara Sjölin (Sweden/Switzerland/Denmark). Swedish Sophie Tottie’s work will also be included in ISCP’s 30th anniversary exhibition.

“in the wild rush of spring” – an exhibition meditating on women, the natural world and the intrinsic links between them – features works on paper, painting and mixed-media works by artists Candace Jensen, Elisa Jensen and Lisa Saeboe. Presented by the American Scandinavian Society and curated by Audra Verona Lambert, the exhibit is on view at Trygve Lie Gallery from Feb 5-28, 2025 with Opening Reception on February 13th from 5-8pm.

The American Scandinavian Society proudly announces that our President, Lars Nilsen will be the Grand Marshall of this year's Norwegian American 17th of May Parade. The 71st Parade will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, starting at 1:30 PM in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn NY. We will be commemorating the 211th Anniversary of the signing of Norway's Constitution! This year’s theme is “Celebrating Norwegian Immigration 1825-2025”. Congratulations to Lars!!!

The exhibition features folded paper sculpture, metal sculpture and photography by Nils Bruun (1938-2023). Nils was a Danish-American engineer with a love of flight and a sculptor’s eye. His captivating abstract origami is on display; some pieces are for sale. The exhibit, curated by Margret M. Ditolla, will run concurrent with the Harriet Nilsen Winter Concert and the 2025 Cultural Grant Ceremony to be held in February.
